The family behind Osgoodby
Osgoodby Cottage is our family home, and we look after every stay ourselves — from the first enquiry to the moment you leave.
We built Osgoodby to be the kind of place we would want to escape to: a bespoke country house with an indoor heated pool, sauna and hot tub, set amongst acres of open North Yorkshire countryside.
Because we host every stay personally, nothing is off the shelf. Tell us what you're celebrating, who's coming and what you need — cots, dogs, a longer stay — and we'll make it work. We usually reply the same day.
The surroundings
Nestled on the lower slopes of Sutton Bank, commanding far-reaching views across the Vale of Mowbray and Vale of York towards the Yorkshire Dales and Pennines
The White Horse and Sutton Bank
Osgoodby Cottage is set upon Sutton Bank and is a five to ten minute drive from the famous White Horse, the Cleveland Path Walk Way, cycling trails, birdwatching and horse riding nearby.
Abbeys and castles
Rievaulx Abbey, Byland Abbey and Helmsley Castle close at hand.
Thirsk
The market town of Thirsk, with its shops, pubs, restaurants and cinema, is ten minutes away.
